It was way back in the Autumn of 2001 when I first made contact with Yummy Jobs to apply for the Cultural Representative Program to work in the UK Pavilion in Epcot. Same as many applicants, I'd been to Orlando on holiday and met people on the program, realised it was exactly the opportunity I'd been looking for, and got in touch with Jason and Alexis soon after my return. I was delighted to make it through to the interviews the following spring and even more so when I was actually offered a role! I arrived in Orlando at the beginning of September 2002 to start what would become one of the most defining, exciting, rollercoaster years of my life. I learned so much working for the Walt Disney Company from a business/professional perspective, which has had a place in every job I've had since. It taught me a whole new way of working, of dealing with people, the importance of hard work and genuine team-work, and opened my eyes to many other things.
My year in Florida had a huge effect personally as well, meeting so many different people and learning from each new situation and experience. I had the best fun, lots of ups (and yes, some downs), although looking back I have nothing but fond memories and appreciate the difficult times for what they taught me. Most importantly to me, I made some of the best friends ever, from all over the world, who I'm still in close contact with today.
Since my year with Disney I've worked in a range of Hospitality roles such as a Chalet Host, Hospitality Supervisor, and a private Housekeeper, to more behind the scenes roles as a Projects/Events Assistant with a bigger emphasis on the administration/planning/HR side of things. At the beginning of 2008 I was lucky enough to gain my best role yet - working for Yummy Jobs! Having just completed a 12 month placement on the American Hotel Resort Program, which has given me an even better insight into the programs Yummy Jobs has to offer and the Hospitality industry in general, I am now back working part-time for Yummy Jobs.
It was with Yummy Jobs that my career in Hospitality began... and I can't wait to continue it with the team! I look forward to helping YOU have the amazing experiences that I've had and to achieve your dreams!"
