One of the greatest benefits of an International Programs is the experience gained whilst working as a Cultural Representative.
In the Cultural Representative Program, participants share their culture and customs with guests who visit from all over the world. Participants in this program will authentically represent the country of The United Kingdom, working for The Crown and Crest at the United Kingdom Pavilion in Epcot. The Crown and Crest is an operating participant company which has an extensive working library for heritage and heraldry, family crests, coats of arms and family name histories.
The Crown and Crest is an exciting retail location located at EPCOT at the Walt Disney World Resort. Our goal is to provide customers with the highest quality service while helping them discover the history of their family names. The Crown and Crest helps to transport our customers to the United Kingdom by giving them a one of a kind retail experience. We offer our customers a variety of goods inspired by the United Kingdom from clothing to replica swords. The Crown and Crest is committed to a sustainable tomorrow by ensuring all products are ethically and sustainably sourced.
The Crown and Crest is independently operated from the Walt Disney Corporation.
Work at Walt Disney World with The Crown and Crest
Through the Disney Cultural Representative Program, you’ll be based at The Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, FL on a Q-1 Cultural Representative Visa. While your visa is through Disney, your actual employer will be Basin, the independent owner and operator of The Crown and Crest in the UK Pavilion.

Hours: At least 32 hours per week
What you’ll be doing:
Your days will be spent inside the charming Crown and Crest shop, helping guests uncover the history of their family names and coats of arms. Using a database, you’ll research their heritage and then offer unique merchandise featuring their coat of arms. Options include:

Take-home prints: $25–$40

Framed pieces (you’ll be trained to create these): $75–$250

Embroidered and hand-crafted keepsakes such as stitched frames, clothing, mugs and hand-painted house signs: $40–$2000
Along the way, you’ll learn about heraldry, including the colours, symbols and meanings behind each coat of arms. This will help you bring history to life for every guest you meet. You may also have the chance to develop skills in framing and order preparation for shipping, with opportunities to explore admin or backstage support if that interests you.
This role is ideal for anyone with a passion for history, a personable manner and a love for creating memorable experiences with guests from around the world.

Home base: Flamingo Crossings Village
Participants live in brand new, fully furnished apartments at Flamingo Crossings Village. The community is packed with perks like fitness centres, swimming pools, computer labs and a convenient transport system. It’s the perfect place to meet new people, build friendships and enjoy plenty of cast member events and activities.
When you’re off the clock, you’ll have time to explore Walt Disney World parks and everything Orlando, Florida has to offer.

Apartments have 2 bedrooms, with the option to share a room with another Disney International Programs participant.

Housing costs include all utilities and range from $227 to $285 USD per week.

Costs are automatically deducted from your weekly paycheck for convenience.

Participants also pay a one-time Disney Program Participation Fee of $467 USD, which helps cover the exclusive activities and events you’ll enjoy during your program.

Successful candidates are those who demonstrate their high level of professional abilities in the field of Sales.

This can be demonstrated on a CV and Cover Letter which highlight a strong track record in Sales, alongside a true passion for sharing the culture of the United Kingdom with others.

It is important for applicants to prove their ability to live and work abroad independently.

Participants on the Cultural Representative Program with The Crown and Crest will be required to submit the following fees:
PRE-ARRIVAL FEES
- Program Participation Fee = $467.00 USD
- Transportation Cost = $35.00 USD (per week, automatically deducted from bi-weekly paycheck)
- U.S. Embassy Appointment Fee = $205.00 USD / can vary dependant upon Embassy process
- Medical Insurance = $550.00 USD to $900.00 USD (must be purchased in full prior to arrival into the U.S).
- Flights to the United States = Varies
POST-ARRIVAL FEES
- Weekly Accommodation Costs = $227.00 – $285.00 USD (automatic payroll deduction)
- Additional supporting funds between $350.00 – $750.00 USD are recommended
