Opened in 2020 as part of a $375 million redevelopment, it’s won awards for design and historic preservation — and it’s ready for you.

Program Highlights

What You’ll Do on the Program

As a J-1 intern or trainee at JW Marriott Savannah – Plant Riverside District, you’ll follow a structured rotational training plan designed to:

  • Expose you to multiple outlets within your discipline
  • Build technical and soft skills in real-world service environments
  • Develop leadership potential through on-the-job coaching and mentorship
  • Immerse you in the Kessler Collection culture, known for creativity, character, and high-touch service

From greeting guests in the lobby to crafting handmade desserts in the pastry kitchen, you’ll gain a full spectrum of experience at one of the most cutting-edge hospitality properties in the U.S.

Culinary Arts / Pastry

Support, learn, and create alongside chefs in Savannah’s most eclectic culinary scenes. You’ll rotate across 3 or 4 distinct venues, like:

  • Stone & Webster Chophouse (elevated steak and seafood)

  • Graffito (authentic Neapolitan pizzas)

  • Turbine Market + Café (grab-and-go breakfast café)

  • Electric Moon Skytop Lounge (rooftop cocktails & music)

  • Myrtle & Rose Rooftop Garden (botanical bites with a view)

  • Baobab Lounge (intimate space inspired by African textures)

  • District Seafood & Smokehouse, Riverside Burger, Biergarten, Savannah Tequila Co., Compass Pool Lounge — and more.

Pay Rate: $16.50–$17.50 USD/hour
Hours: Minimum 32 per week

This track is perfect for creative-minded food lovers passionate about storytelling, flavor, and guest experience.

Food & Beverage

Rotate through standout service venues, wherever the action is — from casual to sophisticated. You may find yourself hosting, serving, or working events in fine dining, à la carte outlets, banquets, or buzzworthy bars.

Pay Rate: $5.00 USD/hour + gratuities OR $7.25 USD/hour depending on rotation
Hours: Minimum 32 per week

Rooms Division

Get trained at the heart of guest experiences, shadowing roles across:

  • Front Desk

  • Lobby Concierge

  • PBX Service

  • Guest Services

Pay Rate: $15.00 USD/hour
Hours: Minimum 32 per week

You’ll leave this track confident with guest interactions, problem-solving, and the standard of care JW Marriott is known for.

Inclusive detail: All tracks offer hands-on rotations, cross-department learnings, and a structure to support your growth. Minimum of 32 hours per week applies to all roles.
