A Legacy Woven in Blue Ridge Mountain History
Perched above Highlands, NC at roughly 4,118 feet elevation, Old Edwards Inn & Spa began life as Central House—Highlands’ first boarding house, built in 1878. Over time, it evolved into the celebrated hotel known as Hotel Edwards in 1935, a beautiful brick-and-stone structure now listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
A Thoughtfully Restored Retreat
In the early 2000s, an extensive $150 million renovation brought new life to the property—adding the Lodge, the serene Spa at Old Edwards, the elegant Farm event venue, and the prestigious Old Edwards Club golf course. Today, under new ownership, the property continues to shape itself into a mountain-luxury legacy.
Stylish Places to Stay
Stay in European-style luxury—from rooms and suites in the Main Inn to private cottages, mountain lodges, and residences crafted for comfort and views. Every space reflects mountain charm and modern ease.
Indulgence Meets Adventure
Treat yourself at the world-class spa, stroll through organic gardens, or sip farm-to-table dining at Madison’s Restaurant, Four65 Woodfire Bistro + Bar, or the cozy Highlands Burrito.
Your Backyard = Blue Ridge Wonder
Explore sweeping golf courses framed by mountain panoramas. Discover curated hiking trails, seasonal celebrations in Highlands, and the creative pulse of shop-lined streets. Southern Living calls the area a “Blue Ridge getaway,” perfect for unwinding and adventure alike.
