This unique and exciting program allows students and professionals the opportunity to train with the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center; the largest, non-gaming hotel in the United States! During this culinary arts placement, you will rotate around the resort's culinary departments, allowing you to maximize your exposure to daily dining operations. On this exciting intern and training program, you will spend 12 months working at the Gaylord Opryland Resort as a member of the Culinary Arts department, on a progressive rotational training program to experience several areas of the hotel.
In this program, you will follow rotations based on your tailor-made training program. Some of the rotations that you might follow are:
Hot food station
Banqueting and events
Participants will be provided with a range of learning opportunities throughout the year, gaining exposure to a range of front-desk and concierge operations. Guest check-in and room assignments, operating a telephone switchboard system, running and checking daily reports, processing all guest requests and concerns, and providing excellent guest service at all times will become part of the everyday responsibilities in this role. Most importantly, you will learn how to complete these to the high standards that you would expect from a leading Marriott resort, gaining a skill set that will compliment your professional career and enhance your future career prospects.
The pay rate for this program is $17.00 USD per hour and you will be scheduled to work a minimum of 32 hours per week.
Participants in this program will be required to obtain a J-1 Intern or Trainee visa through Yummy Jobs and will be able to train for a period of time as outlined by Gaylord Opryland. Upon completion of the program, participants will have up to 30 days to travel within the United States. Participants must then return to their home country upon completion of the program.

Housing for this program is self-sourced. Yummy Jobs has resources and guidance to help you find suitable accommodations. You can stay at the Gaylord Opryland for 2 weeks whilst you source your accommodation at a subsidised rate of $60 per night or $30 per night if you are sharing.
